After ensuring tickets for his loyalists, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has formally started the election campaign to woo electorates in Congress favour. Singh started campaign for 2014 Parliamentary Election from his home turf – Shimla (Rural) assembly constituency. He addressed election meetings at Shoghi, Totu, Dhami, Kohbag and Thachi of Shimla Gramin segment.
While addressing the gathering, Chief Minister rejected the Modi wave and termed it BJP and media created. He said the media were highlighting and glorifying BJP Prime Ministerial candidate.
Taking quip at the developmental claims of Narender Modi in Gujarat and his candidature for PM post on the basis of three terms as CM of Gujarat, Virbhadra stated that he suited best if this was the criteria. Singh said “as compared to Modi, a three-time Chief Minister, I have had this privilege on six occasions and in most areas of development, HP has better indicators than Gujarat,”
He stated that people of Himachal has always rejected Modi. He had campaigned in Himachal for BJP candidate in 2012 assembly election but results gone in Congress favour.
Chief Minister credited the development of the state to the successive Congress led state government and cautioned people of the state not to fallen for the false and hollow promises of BJP.
Chief Minister claimed that Congress would win all four parliamentary seats in Himachal.
