Himachal Police has solved the theft case of Devta Sahib Bandra temple, Rohru and has arrested three Nepalese labourers in Delhi. The police has recovered most of valuables including eight sacred idols of the deity.
Accused has been identified as Dhirender Shahi, Bharat and Ramesh Shahi and has brought from Delhi to Rohru where they identified the spot where they had hidden the stolen valuables. The main idols along with other valuables had been handed over to the temple committee.
Police said that accused were also charged with the murder of the caretaker at the Devta Sahib Bandra temple. Abhishek Dullar, Superintendent of Police, Shimla said that it was following interception of mobile phones which helped the police to zero in on the culprits. He said the accused, after committing the murder, walked to a place Serai Dhar, about 30 kms from the temple, where they hid the idols along with other valuable and left for Chandigarh and then headed for Delhi, where they were nabbed with the help of a team from the operation cell of the Delhi Police.
It’s learnt that they had arrived in Rohru to work as labourers during the apple season almost a month back.
