Although Govt has succeeded to pass the controversial bill of reservation in promotions for SC/STs with the overwhelming support from the legislators, yet it is facing tough opposition from the many section of the societies. Like other state, in Himachal Pradesh the 117th Constitutional Amendment is getting tough opposition from the Himachal Pradesh Anti-Reservation Employees Federation and other section.
Federation has condemned the passing of the 117th Constitutional Amendment to provide reservation in promotions to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and decided to start an agitation to oppose it.
Secretary-General of the federation Rameshwar Gripta said in the first phase of action programme, the Anti-Reservation Action Committee had decided to organise gate meetings to lodge its protest against the unconstitutional move. He extended its full support to the agitating employees of the Uttar Pradesh and decided to coordinate with the employees of other states to build a nationwide movement to expose the Congress and the BJP, who were pursuing vote bank politics at the cost of the country’s interests.
The federation hailed the stand of the Samajwadi Party, the Shiv Sena and the sole Independent for opposing the Amendment in the Rajya Sabha. They had honoured the sentiments of over 75 crore people of the country by taking a just stand on the issue. They appealed to all the employees’ organisations and other bodies to join hands and start a mass movement to root out policy of caste-based reservations.
