Single-window digital system to streamline applications, verification and payments; 1,562 applications received so far

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government has introduced a new online digital platform to simplify and modernise the application and payment process under the Mukhya Mantri Sahara Yojana, providing beneficiaries with a single-window system to access financial assistance.

A government spokesperson said the new platform has been developed to digitise the entire process, from submission of applications to disbursement of financial assistance. The initiative is expected to reduce paperwork while saving applicants both time and money.

1,562 applications received online; Pending applicants will have to apply afresh

According to the government, the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has so far received 1,562 applications through the online platform.

The government has urged eligible persons, including applicants whose cases are currently pending, to submit their applications through the online portal or by visiting the nearest Lok Mitra Kendra. Apply through the Him Parivar e-Kalyan portal

Anganwadi workers will also assist applicants in identifying and verifying beneficiaries and completing the required formalities.

The government has clarified that applicants or beneficiaries whose applications were earlier kept pending by the Himachal Pradesh National Health Insurance Society will also be required to submit fresh applications to receive financial assistance under the scheme.

Financial assistance for serious and prolonged illnesses

The Mukhya Mantri Sahara Yojana is aimed at providing financial support to economically weaker sections of society suffering from serious and long-term illnesses that require prolonged treatment or confinement.

The scheme covers patients suffering from conditions including Parkinson’s disease, malignant cancer, paralysis resulting in permanent disability, muscular dystrophy, haemophilia, thalassaemia, acute or chronic kidney failure and substance addiction. Persons suffering from other serious illnesses that have rendered them permanently unable to work are also eligible for assistance, subject to the scheme’s provisions.

Aid released to 3,813 beneficiaries

The government has also released financial assistance for the April to June 2026 period to 3,813 eligible, Aadhaar-verified and active beneficiaries under the scheme.

However, assistance has not yet been released to 91 beneficiaries because they have not completed their e-KYC verification.

The spokesperson said these beneficiaries will receive the assistance once they complete their e-KYC, following which the concerned District Welfare Officer will release the amount.

The government has advised applicants and beneficiaries to ensure that their verification and other formalities are completed to avoid delays in receiving financial assistance.

The new digital platform is expected to make the Sahara Yojana more accessible to vulnerable families by bringing application, verification and payment-related processes under a unified online system.
