The Himachal Pradesh cabinet accorded sanction for regularizing the services of as many as 3300 contractual employees who have completed six years of regular service on 31 March 2014.
In the meeting, headed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Cabinet also accorded approval to regularize services of all Daily Waged/Contingent paid workers who have completed seven years regular service on 31st March 2014. There are about five thousand such eligible employees. It also approved to provide five days special leave to contractual employees and increase maternity leave of contractual female employees from 12 weeks to 16 weeks.
Apart from this the cabinet accorded approval to convert the services of those part time workers who have completed eight years of regular service on 31st March 2014 as daily wagers. At present there are three thousand part time workers who have completed eight years of regular service on this stipulated date.
