Defending former BJP minister, who was booked by vigilance and Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), veteran BJP leader and former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar has accused government for harassing political opponents and termed it an act of vendetta politics.

In a press conference at Dharamsala, Shanta Kumar said that it was not expected from Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

Shanta Kumar said that Kishan Kapoor had himself cancelled the plot allotted to his wife as a minister. There was no need for the government to register a case against Kishan Kapoor, he added.

Veteran BJP leader also defended Anurag Thakur led HPCA and claimed that the cricket association had not done anything wrong. He believed that the HPCA stadium at Dharamsala was a public property and the government seemed to be registering cases against it as political vendetta.
