The 5th Shimla Running And Living Ultra Half Marathon was organised today in Shimla by the Running and Living Infotainment Organization and the Department of Youth Services and Sports. Kamal Sharma, Director, Sports, flagged off the run from the Ridge.

Around 350 participants took part in the 13km, 21.1km and 24 km race. Another 6 kilometre run was also flagged off from the Ridge.

Anil Kumar from Pant Nagar won the first prize in Ultra Half Marathon who finished the race in One hour and 59 minutes. Sabrina Schmidtt was the first women’s finisher in 2 hrs and 40 minutes.

Rahul Verghese, the founder of Running and Living Infotainment, the organiser of the run, said that participants from various parts of the country including Jallandhar, Patiala, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and few from oversees participated in the race. He said that the popularity of running a tough run, in a place like Shimla was growing rapidly. He expressed hope to see over 500 participants in the next year.
