A Joint delegation Led by MLA’s Rohit Thakur from Jubbal-Kotkhai and Mohan Lal Brakta from Rohru met the Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and urged him to take up the matter regarding starting the work on the Theog-Hatkoti-Rohru road Road.

Rohit Thakur said that the people of Kotkhai-Jubbal and Rohru are facing inconvenience from its bad condition and apple growers are loosing big chunk of their income to this road.

The Chief Minister assured them that the work on the much debated road would soon be started after re-tendering process. He said that the deteriorating condition of the road it is in his knowledge and he himself is the sufferer due to bad condition of the road. He said that most probably, Global tenders would be invited by the end of this month and the efforts of the Government would be to start the work on the road by end of March.

Engineer-in-Chief, Public Works, Pradeep Chauhan said that the detailed estimate had been sent to the World Bank for sanctioning the project which was estimated to cost around Rs 300 crore or more and by the end of this month the re-tendering process would be completed.

The local MLA’s thanked the Chief Minister for seriously considering their long awaited demand and for taking personal pain in taking up the matter with World Bank authorities.
