A Spokesman of State Government informed that the last date for receiving nominations for Civil Service Award, Himachal Gaurav Purskar and Prerna Srot Samman, 2013 has been extended upto 15th February, 2013.
He said that under Civil Service Award cash prize of Rs. 51,000 in case of individual and Rs. 2,50,000 to a group/organization but not exceeding Rs. 50,000 per individual, citation and Himachali Shawl and cap was given. He said that under this scheme Government employee/group of employees would be rewarded with Civil Service Award for exceptional performance /setting high standards of service.
He said that under Himachal Gaurav Purskar cash award of Rs. 21,000 for individual and Rs. 1,00,000 for group but not exceeding Rs. 20,000 per head, citation, Himachali shawl and cap was given. He said that Himachal Gaurav Purskar was started in the year 1992 and persons from all walks of life were eligible for this Purskar. The members of Armed Forces, Police Forces and the recognised Fire Services etc. are eligible for the Purskar provided the life saving act/gallant work is performed by them otherwise than in the course of their duty. The award can also be conferred posthumously. He said that Himachal Gaurav Purskar was conferred to those persons/group of persons who had performed outstandingly in Life Saving Act, Art and Others and Sports field.
The Spokesman said that under Prerna Srot Samman cash award of Rs. 51,000 for individual and Rs. 2,50,000 for group /NGO, citation and Himachali shawl and cap was awarded. He said that Prerna Srot Samman was conferred to those individuals and NGOs who had performed outstandingly in the field of social service, science and engineering, health, education, industry and business, tourism, art and culture and sports etc.
