The Himachal Pradesh BJP postponed the announcement of its second list of candidates for Assembly elections after party Vice president Shanta Kumar skipped a meeting of top leaders and issued a statement where he accused some party-men of clamoring for party tickets.
Shanta Kumar skipped a meeting attended by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, BJP’s Himachal-in-charge Kalraj Mishra, General Secretary J P Nadda to discuss the remaining 23 tickets.
In a statement issued from Palampur, Kumar alleged that “selfish and overambitious” party leaders were clamouring for tickets and indulging in “foeticide” of budding young leaders.
Shanta Kumar expressed his anguish over the bitter fight for tickets for the assembly polls and said that some “selfish” leaders have thrown all norms of decency and sane behaviour to winds”.
