In the three day long colloquium on ‘Himachal Pradesh Key Jan Jatiya Bhasha Jang-Jung’ (Kinnar Kiranti) and International seminar on culture organized by Manri-Bon-Vihar Samiti and Rinchen Jangpo Sahitayak Sabha at Dolanji in Sirmaur district today, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal stressed the need for preservation of environment as it was the biggest challenge; the world was facing in present context.

Chief Minister said that nature worship was being practiced in India since time immemorial and it was considered as integral part of our culture. He said that Hinduism had always been a guiding force for all religions of the world and added that Indian culture was most tolerant and secular among all others. He said that we should take pride in our cultural heritage and glorious history.

Prof. Dhumal said that Rs. 1300 crore ambitious Rohtang tunnel project was the dream of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and added that due to his farsighted vision, the tunnel project had been prepared. Dharam Guru Menri-Thrizing-Langtuk-Pen of Bon Vihar welcomed the Chief Minister. Chhering Dorje, Vice Chairman, Bhartiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, detailed about the culture and dialect of Lahaul areas. A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.

Earlier, BJP leaders of Solan district welcomed the Chief Minister at Oachghat. Dr. R.K. Dhiman, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni along-with employees association, Nehru Jagruk Yuvak Mandal, Kotla-Majhola, district Sirmaur also welcomed the Chief Minister at Kalaghat.

Dr. Rajiv Bindal, MLA and former Minister, Chander Mohan Thakur, Chairman, Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank, Dayal Pyari, Chairperson, Zila Parishad Sirmaur, Kumari Sheela, Chairperson, Zila Parishad, Solan, Dr. V.C. Thakur, Director, Jagdev Chand Memorial Research Institute, Neri, district Hamirpur, Balbir, Regional Pracharak, RSS, Dev Raj Sharma, Chairman, Bhartiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Baldev Raj Chawala, former Minister from Punjab, senior leaders and officers of the State Government were present among others on the occasion.
