Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal performed the foundation-stone of Rs. 10 crore Lift Irrigation Scheme Sayund, Hathinath, Kahudhar, Tegu Vehar, Khorvan, Jamot, Haar etc. at Hathinath (Bhuntar) in district Kullu.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the Scheme would be constructed in three phases and provide irrigational facilities to about 4,278 bighas of land of five panchayats of Kullu tehsil.

He further said that in first phase 914 bighas of land of Bara Bhuin panchayat would be provided irrigational facilities while in second phase, 1748 bighas of land of Gram Panchayats Khorvan and Mashgaon and in third phase, 1616 bighas of land to be brought under irrigation. The water would be lifted from river Beas, he added.

Ravinder Singh Ravi, Irrigation and Public Health Minister, Gobind Thakur, Kishori Lal Sagar, MLAs, Dhaneshwari Thakur, Chairperson, Mahila Commission, Ajay Rana, Vice-President, State BJP, Ram Singh, President, District BJP, other prominent BJP leaders and senior officers were present on the occasion.
