Deputy Commissioner Lahaul & Spiti S.S. Guleria said that the power supply to Kungri and Sagnam gram panchayats in Pin Valley of Lahaul & Spiti district would be restored by 22nd June, 2012. He said that the efforts were afoot to restore telecommunication network within a day or two. The delay in restoring power supply was due to steep and high rocks of around 500 meters each on both sides of Pin River but with cooperation of local people the work of erecting electricity poles had been done to resume the power supply.

Deputy Commissioner said that the diesel and kerosene oil was supplied through helicopters besides edible commodities so that people may not face any inconvenience.

S.S. Guleria added that pedestrian bridge (Jhula) had been made operational yesterday and the construction work on the Span Bridge mostly for transportation of luggage would also be completed within a day or two. Though there was enough ration available in the valley but it would be ensured that the normal supply of essential commodities to fair price shops is also dispatched soon.
