Now deities need police protection too. At the Pawasi Devta shrine in Rohal valley of Chirgaon region of Rohru tehsil, about three kg of gold, 12 kg of silver and uncounted cash were stolen. We have come to know that there were no guards or technical tools to protect the temple treasure.

After registering the case, the police have launched a manhunt to grab hold of the culprits. It is not the first instance when rich shrines of Himachal Pradesh are robbed. Attributable to poor management on the part of temple trusts and lack of staff, the shrines are mostly managed by the local people. Thus, such loopholes enable robber to plunder the wealth of shrines.
