A Spokesman of the State Government said that Agriculture Department would organise Organic Fair and Food Festival from 28th to 30th June, 2012 at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, The Mall, Shimla in collaboration with International Centre for Organic Agriculture and H.P. Tourism Development Corporation. He said that Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal would inaugurate the event.
The Spokesman said that the main attractions of the event would be organic food court by HPTDC in which Himachal organic dishes would be served. He said that display of organic products, workshops, seminars and exposure visits of as many as 1000 farmers would also be part of the event. He said that so far 25000 farmers had been registered for organic farming and for marketing of their produce.
He said that various schemes had been implemented by the State Government to create awareness regarding organic farming amongst the farmers which will not only help to keep clean environment but also provide chemical free food to the people.
