Congress organised its third Parivartan Rally at the historic Seri Pavilion of the Mandi town. Union Minister Anand Sharma, Congress State president Kaul Singh Thakur, leader of opposition Vidya Stokes, party in-charge Birender Singh Chaudhary, GS Bali and many other congress leaders attended the rally.

Union Minister Anand Sharma targeted at BJP Govt and said that Dhumal Govt is indulging in false and misleading propaganda that the central government is discriminating against the state. Anand Sharma said that state was surviving merely on central grants and there was regular increase in the allocation of funds.

Sharma also criticized anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare and his team for maligning image of leaders. He claimed that it is not congress who is clinching to the power, but people of India have immense faith in Congress who gave mandate to party.

He also ridiculed the charge that congress senior leader Virbhadra Singh and other congress leader did little for the state, but claimed that he got schemes of over Rs 50 crores sanctioned for the state and contribution of Virbhadra Singh for the state need not any words, people of Himachal knows better than any another, Sharma added.

President Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, Thakur Kaul Singh alleged that the BJP government had burdened the poor people of the state by levying avoidable tax burden and increasing exorbitantly bus and electricity charges. He also pointed questions on ever increasing universities in State and sensing a big scam to be unearthed. He alleged that some rich people of other states were grabbing prime lands of the state with ulterior motive of converting them later as housing estates to mint huge money. He also reminded people of Mandi that Dhumal had promised government medical college at Mandi and had made announcement from very Seri Pavilion during the last elections, but he went back from his promise, however for the convenience of people of Mandi and its surrounding area, the Congress government at the Centre started construction of ESIC Medical College near Mandi which was nearing completion.

Leader of opposition Vidya Stokes also blamed BJP for increasing rate of corruption in the hill state and even its own MPs and MLAs were openly levelling charges of corruption against its own government.

General Secretary and in charge of HP, Birender Singh Chaudhary said that the cherished dream of Sonia was to bring youths and women forward to rule the country. In sharp contrast, he alleged that Dhumal had only promoted one youth Anurag Thakur who had transferred land worth crores of rupees to the multi-crore organization BCCI for just one rupee.

Thousands of congress workers and supporters attended the Rally, which also led to the traffic jam on all roads leading to Mandi. It was third congress Parivartan Rally and other is scheduled at Hamirpur on 5th July.
