Ministry of Defence warns of avalanche

Ministry of Defence, Government of India has intimated that the Medium danger (yellow stage) avalanche warming exists in some parts of Himachal Pradesh. In view this, people staying in snow bound areas of Solang, Beas Kund and Nehrukund, Gulaba, Marhi of Kullu districts and Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul & Spiti districts of Himachal above 2000 mtr altitude are advised not to venture in avalanche prone areas during the period. People of snow bound areas are also advised to clean the snow from roof top of their houses/bunkers to avoid any casualty due to roof collapse.
