Government School teachers urged Chief Minister to implement all decisions of the Punjab Government relating to the revision of pay grades of teachers, to pay arrears, revise the allowances being given since 1996 and release the instalment of DA due from July 2011.
The demands were raised by PC Kapoor and Onkar Rana, chairman and secretary-general of the Himachal Government Teachers Union, respectively, in a statement. Both union leaders said a 25-point demands charter of the union was recently discussed with Education Minister ID Dhiman, who had “agreed” to amend the 1998 Recruitment and Promotion Rules of headmasters and provide adequate budget for travel and medical reimbursement and office expenses.
