Revenue Minister Thakur Gulab Singh asserts that the state government has approved filling up of 341 posts of trained Patwaris candidates’ alongwith 149 posts of patwaris from surplus patwaris of Consolidation department on secondment basis across the state. He said that out of 2450 sanctioned posts of patwaris, 1776 were filled up and 674 posts were lying vacant so far. He said that in order to strengthen the functioning of Revenue department, the orders of 143 surplus patwaris of Consolidation department have been issued as per their option on secondment basis and the appointment orders of 321 trained patwari candidates out of 341 sanctioned posts have been issued by the respective deputy commissioners. He said that consolidation department had issued orders to deploy 36 patwaris in Bilaspur district, 11 each in Solan and Hamirpur, 18 in Mandi, 38 in Kangra, 6 in Kullu and 23 in Una district on secondment basis whereas deputy commissioners have issued orders to deploy 6 patwaris in Bilaspur district, 23 in Chamba, 19 in Hamirpur, 9 in Lahaul Spiti, 83 in Mandi, 57 in Kangra, 5 in Kinnaur, 8 in kullu, 43 in Shimla, 25 in Solan, 16 in Sirmour and 27 in Una district .
The Minister said that the deployment of these patwaris would result in smooth functioning of the department. He issued necessary directions to concerned officers to hasten the process so that people in remote areas could be facilitated.
