Annoyed over the working of Additional District and Sessions Judge Mandi Rakesh Kainthla the members of Distt Bar Association Mandi appealed the Chief Justice of Himachal High Court Kurian Josheph to redress the grievances of Members of Distt Bar Association. The Distt Bar Association Mandi has passed a resolution to this affect and sent to High Court for necessary action.
According to Lalit Kapoor President of Distt Bar Association Mandi on the requisition of advocates a general house of Distt Bar Association was convened most of advocates apprised the house that the day to day functioning of Additional Sessions Judge was not good they further said that the presiding officer was used to act in mechanical, hyper technical and non co operative manner and invariably hold the court till 7.30 P.M.
It was further alleged by the advocates that the Presiding officers takes pleasure in filing complaint against the advocates to Bar Council of H.P over patty and insignificant matters and the Judge did not accommodate the advocates even on genuine grounds and did not see the practical difficulties of advocates. IN the past certain members of Bar also met him and apprised him about the grievances of lawyers but to no avail. The members of Distt Bar Association passed unanimously the resolution to this affect and wished that this matter be brought to the notice of Chief Justice of H.P High Court and further to request him to redress the grievances of lawyers.
According to Sameer Kashyap, General Secretary Distt Bar Association Mandi the resolution has been sent yesterday to the Chief Justice of H.P for consideration he further said soon a delegation of members of Distt Bar Association Mandi would meet Chief
Justice and apprise him the problem being faced by them due to attitude of Additional Distt and Sessions Judge Mandi.
