Central Intelligence Agencies have asked the State police to step up vigil in Mandi, Sirmaur, Chamba and Kullu districts that can be used by Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir-based militant organizations like the Babbar Khalsa, the Hizbul Mujahideen and the Lashkar-e-Taiba trying to regroup. There have been cases of these militant groups causing disrupt in certain places in these areas, thus the directive from the Centre to the State police has asked the DCs and SPs of these four districts to have their troops on their toes against any suspicious activity.
