Six people killed in an accident and two others are seriously injured when a car in which they were traveling fell into a gorge near Mandari, about 50 km from Shimla. Five out of six deceased were from family. Police said that the victims were returning to Shavali village from Dhami. Police added that six people, including a child, died on the spot and other two injured were rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College hospital Shimla.
Police said that the driver lost control over the car while negotiating a sharp turn. The Himachal Pradesh Govt has announced an immediate relief of Rs 10,000 to the next of kin of the dead and Rs 5,000 to the injured.
