A spokesman of Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Corporation (HPSIDC) said that the Corporation had executed works of more than Rs. 14.50 crore during financial year 2011-12 upto December, 2011 against the target of Rs. 14 crore. He said that the Corporation expects to achieve a target of Rs. 18 crore by the end of the financial year thereby exceeding its projected targets by nearly 30%. He said that it has executed major works of Departments of Industries, Technical Education, Fisheries, Police/Prisons etc. Presently the Corporation has civil works of around Rs. 35 crores in had which are under various stages of implementation, he added.
He said that Board of Directors of the Corporation had recently approved a proposal for strengthening of its Civil Construction Wing. Consequently, two Degree Holder Assistant Engineers(Civil), one Assistant Architect and three Junior Engineers (Civil ) were being recruited for which the process had already been initiated.
He said that it had been the endeavour of the Corporation to not only adhere to the time schedule for completion of various civil works but also focuses on quality of construction. He said that periodic reviews of on-going works were held and timely actions were initiated to penalise the defaulting contractors. The works were being closely monitored and adequate focus is being maintained in order to execute/complete the works in a time bound manner, he added.
