The Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) under Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) was launched in all the 12 districts of the state on Wednesday.
A Spokesperson of the Health department said here today that IHIP is being rolled out in six states of India. IHIP is real time, village wise, case based electronic health information system with GIS tagging which will help in prompt prevention and control of epidemic prone diseases.
He said that as this platform becomes permanent feature in Health department, information from other branches like tuberculoses control programme, maternal and child health programme and non-communicable disease programme etc. also will be included in this platform. This way, all the authentic information required in Health department will be available at one place for ease of patients, data users as well as health managers/planners.
An Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) has been setup by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The primary objective of IHIP is to enable the creation of standards compliant Electronic Health Records (EHRs) of the citizens on a pan-India basis along with the integration and interoperability of the EHRs through a comprehensive Health Information Exchange (HIE) as part of this centralized accessible platform.
IHIP is envisaged to enable better continuity of care, secure and confidential health data/records management, better diagnosis of diseases, reduction in patient re-visits and even prevention of medical errors, better affordability, optimal information exchange to support better health outcome, better decision support system, and thus eventually facilitating improvement in the reforms of treatment and care of public health at National-Level.
