Shimla: Taking strong action against the illegal recruitments, appointments made from December 1993 to February 1998 in various departments, boards, corporations and universities, the Himachal Pradesh high court has directed the state government to file challan against the accused within four weeks.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Kuldip Singh passed these orders while hearing an application of S M Katwal, former chairman of HP Subordinate Services Selection Board. In his application Katwal has pleaded that despite registering FIR No. 1/2006 at Police Station Vigilance Shimla, on HC directions dated November 7, 2005, no investigation was being done in the alleged illegal recruitments case. No progress was made in the case after the HC stopped monitoring it after writ petition 7/2005 of Katwal was disposed on May 22, 2008, the application added.
