A unit of Daily Utpidan Virodhi Morcha staged a demonstration outside the state bank of India, Shimla branch against the humiliation of Susheel Tanwar a dalit employee of the same bank by the DGM Shimla. The DGM had allegedly passed castiest remarks against Tanwar, who also happens to be differently abled and moves on a wheel chair.
It’s learned that Susheel Tanwar wanted to represent his case over his illegal transfer from main branch to Shoghi, which is at a distance of 20 kms away. Tanwar claimed that instead of listening to him the DGM burst open castiest remarks against him and even termed him to be inept dalit. Here it needs to be pointed out that just recently the state government has passed the highest award of ‘Himachal Rattan’ onto him.
The demonstration apart from others was also addressed by deputy mayor MC Shimla Tikender Singh Panwar. It is shocking to note that more than 10 days have passed by since the incident took place but no arrest has been made. The Daily Utpidan Virodhi Morcha has categorically stated , in case the government does not initiate action against the guilty, more actions would be pressed in to force the government to accept the demand of registering the case under SC ST prevention of atrocity act.
