Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Ramesh Dhawala directed the officers of Fisheries Department to explore the possibilities of self-employment in production of ornamental and other fishes so that employment opportunities generated and unemployed youth benefited as well. He also expressed his satisfaction over fish seed production and generation of Government revenue from pissiculture in the State. He also directed the officers of fisheries department to ensure quality work of various on-going construction works of the department. He also said that the technical staff of the department could frequently visit the construction sites and take stock on the ongoing construction works and directed also to finish it in time.
Minister was presiding over the review meeting of Fisheries Department. He said that the Department had imparted training to 102 unemployed youth of different district in fisheries this year so that they could establish their own self-ventures. He also directed to take more efforts to take land on lease for Bhakra Beas Management near Pong Dam reservoir and added that fish seed would be purchased from other States till fish seed production started in the farm so that besides providing seeds for fish farming it could also be conserved adequately in reservoirs also.
