Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Cabinet granted approval to establish of Government Polytechnic at Chopal in Shimla district. With the cabinet nod, now hundred of aspirants of technical education of Chopal region, won’t have to move to nearby Rohru and even neighbor state Punjab for the study.

Rajneesh Kimta, elected PCC member Chopal welcomed the cabinet decision and thanked Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for fulfilling the longstanding demand of Chopal region. He said that Chopal region was striving for the development from past many years, but it’s lagged behind in the BJP rule and even region was deprived from basic amenities. Kimta stated Chief Minister was giving special attention to the development of the far-flung area of the state.

Balbir Singh Verma, Chopal MLA also welcomed the cabinet decision and thanked Chief Minister for granting nod for Government Polytechnic at Chopal.

In the Cabinet meeting, opening of new government degree colleges at Nagrota Surian in Kangra district, Rewalsar, Sandhol and Lad Bhadol in Mandi district, Dharamapur and Diggal in Solan district, Sarahan in Sirmaur district and Nankhari and Kumarsain in Shimla district also get nod with adequate budget.

The cabinet also granted approval for lease of University land for setting up of Spices Park at KVK Bara, Hamirpur. The Cabinet has also decided to give ex-post facto approval as one time measure to issue provisional Admit Cards/Roll Numbers to the students of defaulter private Polytechnics. The results will not be declared till the amount of penalty is deposited by these institutions.
