Quarterly meeting of SC/ST Cell of Shimla Grameen Block Congress was held at village Gadawag of Gram Panchayat Chaily, near Summer Hill under the Chairmanship of Uttam Singh Kashyap, President of the Cell. Chander Shekhar Sharma, BCC President and Jitender Thakur, (a local resident and Secretary, Shimla Urban Congress) were special invitees. Most of party office bearers attended the meeting.

In the meeting, local residents of Gadawag village asked Congressmen to build a connecting road to the village. They said that due to lack of the road they were facing problem carrying patients to the hospitals and their agriculture produce to the market.

The villagers demanded road connectivity, Drinking Water facility and Community Hall for Village Gadawag. Chander Shekhar Sharma, BCC President assured the villagers that their demands would be taken up with the Government effectively.

Uttam Singh Kashyap and his team apprised locals about the flagship schemes and programmes of the UPA Govt and Virbhadra Singh Government. They detailed out the importance of Right to Food, Right to Information, Right to Land Acquisition, supply of subsidized ration through Public Distribution System, Mid Day Meal, free books, free uniform, free bus traveling to the students, Un-employment Allowance to youth, free 108 Ambulance Service and other Medical Facilities under NRHM to the locals and asked them to utilise these schemes.
