Lok Sabha Election

Congress directs DCC, BCC to send names for probable Lok Sabha candidates

The Himachal Pradesh Congress, gearing up for the forthcoming 2014 General Election and in a meeting at Rajiv Bhavan, party state office here at Shimla, which was attended by PCC office-bearers, vice-presidents, general secretaries, treasurer, spokespersons, executive members and district presidents of the Congress, asked all Block and District Congress Committees (BCC and DCC) to send names of probable Lok Sabha candidates to the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee by November 30.

Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, HPCC president, clarified that prospect of winnability would be only criterion for the candidature. He said that now time has come to spread party roots into the panchayat level and asked the DCCs and BCCs to form Congress committees at the panchayat level and start holding their regular meetings.

Congress President also exhorted party workers to maintain discipline and work towards dispelling the false propaganda led by opposition parties against the Centre as well as the state government.
