A delegation of Himachal Pradesh Primary Teachers Association led by Lal Chand Mehta, State President, met Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today. Association urged the Chief Minister for providing revised pay scale to the Primary teachers on the pattern of Punjab from October, 2012. They also requested for regularizing primary assistant teachers, creating a post of Assistant Block Primary Education Officer at block level, providing special increment to the Head Teacher on the pattern of Punjab and removing condition of 50% reservation for promotion from JBT to TGT. Association also demanded for a separate Primary Education Directorate.

The Chief Minister assured the delegation that government would consider these demands sympathetically.
