Tikender Panwar forays into Shimla assembly seat from CPM

CPM leader Tikender Singh Panwar is contesting from Shimla Urban assembly seat. With Panwar in the fray, Shimla Urban constituency will experience a triangular contest.

Tikender Singh Panwar is one of the known faces in Shimla region and touted as a strong comrade among the party line. Presently Tikender Panwar is elected Deputy Mayor of Shimla MC. In the recent Shimla MC Elections, he polled 21,196 votes and had defeated his nearest rival BJP candidate Devinder Chauhan by convincing 4778 votes.

CPM had substantial support in Shimla assembly seat; even it had won it once by a thin margin. In the last five assembly elections, CPM has made a triangular contest on this seat and with Panwar’s name in the foray, it will definitely augment the tension in the Congress and BJP camps.
