Abhishek Jain, Director, Scheduled Castes, OBC and Minorities Affairs Department said that the State Government is providing liberal loans to wards of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Minority community, Other Backward Classes and women for pursuing higher education after matriculation for JBT, Nursing, Hotel Management, MBA, MBBS, Engineering, LLB and B.Ed. courses.

He said that Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation, Solan was providing loan upto Rs. 75,000 to Scheduled Castes applicants whose annual family income was less than Rs. one lakh and applicant was admitted to relevant course. He said that Himachal Pradesh Women Development Corporation Solan was giving a loan upto Rs. 75,000 to women applicants who annual family income was not more than Rs. one lakh.

Jain said that Himachal Pradesh Backward Classes, Finance and Development Corporation, Kangra was providing loan upto Rs. 50,000 to applicants belonging to Backward Classes who annual family income was not exceeding Rs. 36,000. He said that besides this, the Corporation was also providing educational loan upto Rs. five lakh on interest rate of four percent to such applicants whose annual income was not more than Rs. 40,000 for professional and technical courses.

He said that Himachal Pradesh Minorities Finance and Development Corporation, Shimla was providing loans upto Rs. 2.50 lakh to the applicants of minority community whose family annual income was not more than Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 55,000 in rural and urban areas respectively. He said that besides this, the Corporation was also providing loan upto Rs. four lakh on six percent rate of interest to applicants with 40 percent disability or above and whose annual family income was not more than Rs. five lakh.

Abhishek Jain said that interested applicants can apply on prescribed format alongwith Himachali domicile, caste certificate, educational certificate attested by competent authority to concerned Corporations.
