Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today laid foundation stone of ambitious Seer Khad Channelization (Stabilization and Flood Control) Project, from Jahu to Bum, at Rewal Tal in district Bilaspur, estimated to cost Rs. 23.17 crore. The scheme would benefit the people of Jahu village in district Hamirpur, Bhambla, Khudla, Batail, villages in district Mandi and Dehra, Bani Panditan, Bum, Kulwari, Parnal, Salao and Talwara of district Bilaspur, where 120 hectares of farm land would be irrigated and eight hectares of farm land reclaimed.

Chief Minister also performed foundation stone laying ceremony of Lift Drinking Water Supply Scheme to Kot Dehra Hatwar and Bhatwara, Thadoh in Tehsil Ghumarwin, district Bilaspur, estimated to cost Rs. 4.60 crore which would benefit a population of about 10 thousand of nearby 16 villages, and 30 habitations in five gram panchayats of Hatwar, Kot, Pantehara, Bum and Marhana in the area by lifting water from Seer Khad and ensure 70 litres of safe drinking water per person per day.

Ravinder Singh Ravi, IPH Minister, Col. Inder Singh, MLA, Gopalpur, prominent people of the area, Ritesh Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner, Santosh Patial, Superintendent of Police, M.S. Kanwar, Chief Engineer, IPH and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
