Nestle water samples failed to pass the pollution test at its Tahliwal based unit of Una district. The water samples were taken from the industrial discharge of the Tahliwal-based unit of Nestle failed continuously for three months – from March to May.

Following this, the Himachal Pradesh Pollution Control Board ordered disconnection of power to the unit. The unit authorities moved an appeal before the Chairman of the board. The Chairman has provided temporary relief to the unit against the order for severing power connection.

Initially, the plant authorities were issued notice to improve the situation. However, water samples failed continuously for three months and the order for severing power connection was passed.
