BJP workers protest against rampant corruption and unprecedented price hike under the UPA regime. Similar demonstrations were held in other parts of the state as well. Protest was led by national vice-president Kalraj Mishra led party workers.

Kalraj Mishra was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur, Shimla MP Virender Kashyap, local legislator Suresh Bhardwaj, Chetan Bragta and other office-bearers of the party.

BJP workers assembled at the Telegraph Office here today and took out a protest march thorough Lower Bazar. They then proceeded towards The Mall and addressed the gathering outside Town Hall in violation of the prohibitory orders. About 300 party workers who courted arrest along with senior leaders were taken in vans to the Boileauganj police station from where they were later released.

While addressing the Party workers, Kalraj Mishra said the UPA had become synonymous with corruption and because of its anti people policy it has failed to check the spiraling prices. He also lashed out at Congress over its inaction about bringing back black money stashed away in foreign banks.

Anurag Thakur also criticized UPA Govt for not curbing inflation and said that UPA is anti common people and because of its weak policies value of our currency is coming down drastically and because of it prices of petrol is going up despite the slump in international market.

BJP MLAs and party functionaries took part in similar protests at all district headquarters in the state.
