A Government Spokesman said here today that the last date for registration of food licenses under the provisions of Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, (FAA) 1954 which was going to expire on 31st March, 2012 had been extended upto 30th April, 2012.
He said that all those dealing in regulating manufacturing, storage, distribution, sale and import of food and doing such business can apply for licenses before 30th April, 2012.
He said that District Health Officers would provide necessary guidance to the people at Sub-Divisional-level for getting the licenses issued. He further said that the Food Safety and Standards Act, (FSSA) was being implemented under the guidance of the Central Government in the State and the prescribed fee had also been fixed by the Central Government.
