Heavy snowfall and governments inability to provide parapets alongside the edges of the roads has led to a spree of accidents, claiming lives, in higher regions of the State. Another mishap was averted when a Scorpio carrying the MLA Chopal Subhash Manglate along with 4 people including Congress worker Shyam Sharma slipped 30 feet into a gorge on the Lohandhar road when they were returning from Majholi panchayat. Fortunately all the 5 people in the Scorpio are reported to be fine sans any injury. Due to the heavy snowfall, a JCB was towing the Scorpio, unfortunately the attached rope broke and the Scorpio went out of control and slipped off the road, which had no parapets on the sides.
