CITU backed agitated Aaganwari workers protested and marched onto the Himachal Pradesh secretariat and blockaded the government offices for over three hours. Agitated workers were demanding to release the arrears of workers and helpers immediately. They also demanded for the parity in pay and allowances with the governments of Punjab, Uttrakhand and Haryana for the current financial years.

They also demanded to constitute of a ‘welfare fund for Aaganwari workers’ that would provide them with pensionary benefits after retirement. Protestors also demanded for the 90 percent reservation for their promotion as ICDS supervisors that had been reduced to 50 percent by the government. Later protestors submitted a memorandum of demands to principal secretary welfare SK Dash.
