Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the State Government had provided financial benefits worth Rs. 5100 crore to the employees of the State so far and added that arrears worth Rs. 311 crore would be given to them on the occasion of Deepawali. He said that the State Government would also provide two biswa land to the land less families in the rural areas for construction of houses. Chief Minister was addressing a public meeting at Solan today. He also flagged off the Mobile Blood Donation Vehicle from Thodo ground.

Chief Minister said that the State Government was committed to the development of weaker sections of the Society and added that the budget provision under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan had been increased from 11 percent to 25 percent and Rs. 862 crore were being spent under this plan during the current financial year. He said that the budget provision under the plan during the term of previous Government during 2006-07 was mere Rs. 231 crore. He said that Mata Shabri Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojana had been started to facilitate women of Scheduled Caste and 50 percent subsidy was being provided to 5100 SC women for purchasing domestic gas and stove.

Chief Minister said that the State Government had started various Scholarship schemes for students of weaker sections during its previous tenure in 1998 and added that Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme was started on 14th April, 1998 for 2000 SC students under which a scholarship of Rs. 10 thousand per student was provided. He said that scholarship schemes worth Rs. 9 crore were started then and added that the State Government was also providing scholarship of Rs. 30 thousand to deserving MBBS students enabling poor students to pursue their studies. Dhumal said that various other developmental scheme like Guru Ravi Dass Civil Amenities Up gradation scheme was being implemented to give a facelift to the infrastructure in the towns.

Chief Minister said that the State Government had decided to construct Ambedkar Bhawans in every Assembly Constituency by spending Rs.10 lac per building. He said that more than 50 buildings in various Constituencies have been constructed so far and rest are expected to be completed by next year. He said that Mukhya Mantri Adarsh Gram Vikas Yojana had been started for the development of SC population concentrated areas and Rs. 10 lac each were being provided to the selected two villages per every Assembly Constituency. Dhumal said that common man was hit by price hike which was due to the wrong policies of the Central Government. He said that the Government was providing more than Rs. 100 crore annual subsidy on providing essential food grains to the ration card holders.

Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Health Minister welcomed the Chief Minister. He thanked the Chief Minister for providing adequate budget for constructing roads in the District to facilitate farmers. He detailed out the developmental projects sanctioned by the present Government during its tenures. He said that Atal Swasthya Sewa was proving a boon to the people and added that 69 percent women were availing these facilities. He said that free Health facilities worth Rs. 18.5 crore were being provided to the people under various schemes. Virender Kashyap, MP thanked the Chief Minister for his efforts for speedy upliftment of weaker sections of the Society. Dr. Rajeev Saizal, MLA said that the State Government was making adequate budget provision for developmental schemes.
