Tribal’s of Lahul and Pangi, who are stranded in Kullu are loosing their patient. About 500 people of Lahul and Pangi are still waiting for their turn for helicopter service at Bhunter. Irregular schedules, due to government compulsions, bad weather and unavailability of 20 seated helicopter, have compounded their problems. With the government apathy now stranded people are ready to cross the Rohtang pass on foot. It’s learned that local residents and employees are opting to cross Rohtang on foot as they want to reach their homeland and office under any emergencies to take stock of their agricultural works and join their duties in time.

Helicopter service is not working properly and if Tribal people opted to cross the Rohtang pass on their own, it’ll be huge embarrassment for the government. Rohtang is always dangerous to cross over as glaciers, avalanches, snow blizzard, snow storms and strong winds are permanent threat to their lives.

It’s not first time when people of Lahul and Pangi are facing such problem, people of the area have voiced their grievances time and again for the better helicopter service, but government seems turned a deaf ears against the problem.
