Shimla: To commemorate the 66th death anniversary (Martyrdom Day) of ‘Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee today organised ‘Sadbhavana Diwas’ at its Shimla office.
While addressing party workers, Irrigation and Public Health minister Vidya Stokes urged the party workers to follow the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi and administered oath of ‘National Unity’ to party workers present at Rajiv Bhawan Shimla.
Stokes said that Mahatma Gandhi was the leading political and spiritual leader of India’s freedom struggle and of modern India. She said that Mahatma Gandhi had not only led India to freedom but he also inspired people around the world to fight for the rights and liberty of common man.
Energy Minister Sujan Singh Pathania said that Gandhi was devout follower of principles of truth and non-violence and his life taught everyone the power of it.
HPCC Vice President Gangu Ram Musafir, General Secretary Harbhajan Singh Bhajji, Treasurer Surender Chauhan, Executive member Mahinder Singh Chauhan, Spokesperson Naresh Chauhan, Kehar Singh Khachi, Pradeep Bhujja, PCC member Anand Kaushal and members of Sewa Dal, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, INTUC and other party workers attended the Sadbhavana Diwas.
