The State Level Single Window Clearance &Monitoring Authority (SLSWC&MA) in its 64th Meeting held here under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, cleared three additional industrial investment proposals and four expansion proposals of existing industrial units, valued at Rs. 325 crore which would generate employment to 578 more people.
Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh had emerged the choicest destination for safe industrial investment where best of the basic infrastructural facilities had been created to facilitate the investors in carrying forward with their industrial activities in a most investment friendly environment. He said that the withdrawal of the Special Industrial Package to Special Category States of the country by NDA Government headed by Atal Behari Vajpayee ahead of its scheduled date of March, 2013, had not affected industrial investment in the State even after its withdrawal. He said that the Package was announced for ten years and was upto March31, 2013 but the UPA Government at the Centre had withdrawn the same three years ahead of its scheduled time. He said that the State had built rapport with the industrialists and had been facilitating them all the required services at their door steps besides clearing their proposals at the high level forum of Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority Meeting which consisted of top officers of the concerned departments.
Prof. Dhumal said that best companies in the world had established their manufacturing units in the State and the State had emerged a hub of industrial activities. He said that top priority was being accorded to the grievances of the industrialists and all concerned departments were in close contact with them to solve their genuine problems. He thanked the investors for reposing their faith in the progressive and investment friendly government in the State which was contributing significantly towards the gross domestic product of the State.
Kishan Kapoor, Industries Minister, apprised the Meeting of the initiatives being taken to attract more industrial investment with ecological safeguards and generation of employment to the educated unemployed youth of the State. J.S.Rana, Commissioner Industries, conducted proceedings of the Meeting. S.Roy, Chief Secretary, Dr. Deepak Sanan, Additional Chief Secretary, principal secretaries, secretaries, heads of different departments attended the meeting.
