Himachal Pradesh CPI (M) has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against BJP Shimla Parliamentary Constituency candidate Virender Kashyap accusing him for violating model code of conduct.

CPM, in its written complaint to Chief Electoral Officer, allegedly that Kashyap has distributed leaflet titled “Nai Soach Nai Umeed Ke Saath” in the various parts of Shimla Parliamentary Constituency including Shimla town through news papers.

CPM claimed that BJP hasn’t mentioned the numbers of leaflet printed and that make it the gross violation of Model Code of Conduct. Leftist party has asked Commission to take strong action against BJP and demanded Election Commission to entertain the payments given by the BJP or its candidate to the news agencies for the distribution of these leaflets in election expenditure of the candidate.
