Shimla: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh visited Governor House and greeted Governor Urmila Singh on auspicious occasion of Deepawali.

Earlier, Virbhadra Singh also visited ‘Balika Ashram’, Mashobra on the occasion of Diwali and distributed sweets and fire crackers to the inmates. He wished happy Diwali greetings to them and said that Government was committed to provide best possible facilities to all the government run Ashrams in the State.

Virbhadra Singh said that a new building of ‘Balika Ashram’ would be constructed to provide better housing facilities to the destitute and orphan girl child. He asked the children to devote their maximum time and energy towards their studies in order to excel in their lives.

Chief Minister said that Old Age Home would be constructed at Mashobra as it is a sunny site and a Primary Health Centre is also nearby. He said that at IGMC Shimla where the construction work had been started for Old Age Home and the land was developed would be utilized for construction of ‘Sarai Bhawan’.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Col. Dhani Ram Shandil, Additional Chief Secretary Shri P.C. Kapoor, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Shri Dinesh Malhotra and Director, Women and Child Development Ms. Madhu Bala were present at Balika Ashram, Mashobra.
