Ten persons were killed in an accident near Uhal in Hamirpur district. Accident happened when the driver of the Bolero jeep lost control and the vehicle plunged into a deep gorge. The impact of the accident was so severe that a majority of the passengers died on the spot.
The driver of the vehicle has sustained serious injuries and was taken to a Hamirpur hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.
The dead were taken to the Toani Devi hospital but none of them has been identified yet. All of deceased were laborour, hailed from Rajasthan, and were working on the Uhal-Pranali road work. Local villagers helped to extricate the survivors.
