The Regional Hospital Hamirpur has set up an oral cancer screening centre as its dental department was recently equipped with the latest direct fluorescence visualisation technique. It is first in the state.

This will enable visualisation of cancer symptoms and help in early treatment. The entire money to set up the centre has been provided by local MLA Urmil Thakur from her local Area Development Fund.
