The famous Manimahesh pilgrimage of Chamba district will start on August 10 on Krishna Janamashtami and conclude on September 23 on Radhashtami at the Manimahesh Lake. A preliminary meeting of sub-divisional-level officers was held under the chairpersonship of Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Bharmour, BR Kamal at Bharmour last week to chart out a strategy for the comfort of pilgrims. The ADM directed the officials to carry out necessary repairs and remove debris of landslips on the 13-km-steep footpath leading to the Manimahesh Lake. He also directed the officials to identify the locations for setting up transit health centres, huts for rest and stay, toilet blocks en route the Manimahesh lake, besides making adequate arrangements for parking-lots.

The ADM will also visit the Manimahesh Lake in the last week of July to check the arrangements.
