Himachal Lokhit Party (HCL) accused health minister Rajiv Bindal of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income, a charge denied by the BJP leader as “baseless and concocted”. At a press conference, HLP spokesman and former minister Mohinder Nath Sofat demanded a CBI probe into the matter. Sofat claimed that there were “glaring discrepancies” in the affidavits submitted by Bindal while filing nominations for the Assembly elections. Sofat alleged that Bindal had acquired properties not only in the state but in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh also, the HLP leader said a probe by a central agency like CBI alone can reveal the truth.
