A high level meeting was held to take stock of the situation arisen due to heavy snowfall in some parts of the State yesterday. Deepak Sanan, Principal Secretary, Revenue who presided over the meeting said that almost all major roads except Shimla-Rampur via Narkanda, Shimla-Chopal via Theog and Shimla-Rohru via Kharapathar have been open for traffic. He said that efforts were afoot to open these roads for traffic within a day or two. National Highway-22 has been cleared upto Matiana and work to open Shimla-Rohru via Kharapathar is underway.

It was informed in the meeting that electricity supplies in major towns have been restored. In Kullu and Manali the power supply would be restored by today. Work of restoration of it is going on war footing. Efforts are also made to restore electricity in Kinnaur, Kaza and Chopal within next one or two days. Efforts are also being made to restore electricity supply in interior areas at the earliest so that people do not face any inconvenience. Water supply in almost all areas is also normal.

The buses for Rampur is being sent via Basantpur and Dhami and for Chopal and Rohru areas sent from Paonta Sahib side. Deepak Sanan said that concerted efforts should be made to bring normalcy in all snow affected areas.
